Weekend Recap

We have had a weekend full of family! We started our first official day of summer on Friday with a morning of cleaning and making a daily and weekly summer chore list. That makes me sound like a super fun Mom! ;)

The kids did a lot of playing too of course. This girl was being especially silly!

I had to get some things done on the computer and when I went to check on them, this is what I found! They had filled our crib (which no longer gets used) with stuffed animals and themselves. Ha ha!

Our son's request for his first day of summer was frozen yogurt! No surprise there. ;)

After frozen yogurt we decided to have dinner and spend the evening at my Step-dad and Mom's house. I am doing the photo boards for my brother's graduation party in a couple weeks and needed to go through pictures! Our 3 year old helped Grandma by carrying her clothes basket outside. Ha ha!

Grandpa wasn't home when we got there and when he got home; he had a shiny new toy in the back of his truck! They just finished having a pole barn built and he said he needs to fill it up. ;)

Saturday morning the kids were excited to get to work on their weekly chores! I loved having them all helping out. I think this is going to work out great!

Our 5 year old had been counting down the days until her date with Daddy to go mini golfing. Love this sweet picture of her on their "date".

They also got two new Lalaloopsy mini dolls from Toys R Us on their daddy/daughter date and when they got home she drew this picture of four of her dolls. I might be biased, but I think she did a great job! I was really impressed.

Nap time got overlooked most days because of school schedules this year. We got home from picking our daughter up from preschool about 12:30 and by the time we ate lunch it didn't leave much time before we needed to pick up our son meaning no time for a set nap schedule. Now that summer is here, on the days we are home I plan to implement rest time for an hour and a half each day for the girls and that will be quiet time for our son. This girl ended up taking a long nap on Saturday but that meant she was up late Saturday night and finally fell asleep on the couch with me holding her. I love moments like those! ♥

Our youngest brother will graduate high school next week and he has been asking for an updated picture of the four siblings. We planned to take one after church today because he spoke during church so we knew all four of us would be there. I asked our 5 year old to hold my phone and she took about 30 pictures. Ha ha! This is one she took. ;)

This ended up being our favorite even though someone has their sunglasses on!

I wanted to get a picture of the six grandkids together too and a couple of them were standing like this in the new pole barn. I thought it would be fun to have all six of them stand the same way. My friend Emily mentioned on instagram that our three are perfect stairsteps. Love it! ♥

Not quite as cute when we did it, but still fun. ;)

After our yummy lunch and cake and ice cream to celebrate all the April and May birthdays the kids were ready to play! The girls were swinging. Our 5 year old just recently learned to pump her legs really well when she is swinging and wants to swing every chance she gets. I'm proud of her!

The boys played in the sand. I think our 11 year old nephew was a little bored for a while. It has to be hard being that age when the next oldest of the kids is only 7.

I was working on collecting pictures for the photo boards and looked out to see this. All six kids playing together and giggling. Melted my heart. (My 4 year old nephew is behind the swing. He was helping push.) ♥

My Step-dad and Mom needed to work on their landscaping and the kids wanted to help! (In their church clothes!)

This did not last long. It is slightly dangerous to have shovels in their hands!

We ended the afternoon with a little more play time on the swing set. The kids did not want to leave! I have mentioned before in a post about the lot, but it is so nice for the kids to be able to be outside and play all day long instead of being stuck inside at our rent house! It was a wonderful time with family. ♥ ♥
