Show and Tell | Favorite Party

Today for Show and Tell Tuesdays Andrea is talking about favorite parties.  I used to have a big birthday party for our kids with all our family and close friends and their kids each year.  There were things I loved about each party but I think my favorite is the Princess Party I threw when our girls turned 4 and 2 in 2013.

I had so much fun with the party prep! I did a lot of searching on Pinterest and Etsy for ideas and found some great sites. I got most of the ideas that I used from this blog.  My decorations were not nearly extensive as those were, but I am really happy with how they turned out!  I sent my best friend in Tennessee a picture of something similar to these frames that I found on Pinterest. A few weeks later these beautiful frames came in the mail. Loved it that she was able to help with the party even from states away.

I found the idea for this pinata on Pinterest here. I found the photo online and printed it then blew it up in to two 8x10's at Office Max.  We wrapped a diaper box and just taped a photo to the front and back of the box. What a fun and inexpensive pinata!

I ordered these extremely glittery princess wands online and they were much bigger than I expected! They worked out well as centerpieces for the table though and each of the girls was able to take one home. I'm sure their parents appreciated having glitter all over their vehicles. ;)

Princess Ariel's Sea Shell collection

Cinderella's Glass Slippers

The glass slippers filled with blue Sixlets and the buckets filled with chocolates that my friend Sara and I made in the shape of sea shells.

A few more fun things that were on the "dessert table" including the Bippity Boppity Boo Wands. :)

My high school friend Angie made the girls this beautiful cake.  I loved it!  I got the cupcake toppers, table tent-style labels, and the princess favor tags that we glued to the buckets for the sea shells from TheBirthdayHouse on Etsy.

The dessert table was so pretty (and yummy!)

My friend Carissa made BINGO cards, which we renamed ROYAL, with Princesses for the girls and Princes for the boys.  They turned out so cute!

The kids all loved hitting the pinata! We used a frying pan instead of a bat like in the movie Tangled. :) (A Pinterest idea).

We let our 2 year old birthday girl go first. It may not have been the best idea to give a two year old a frying pan. I supervised her closely. ;)  She was really more interested in trying to hit it with a balloon than the pan.

I loved the huge castle balloon on the gift table.

Love this girl!

She gives the best hugs!

Our just turned 4 year old and two of her princess friends!

The princesses :)

The princes outnumbered the princesses.  Several of my close friends are boy moms!  We went with foam swords for the boys.  I have such fond memories of the party and I hope my girls will too!  They may not remember the party but will be able to see through pictures what a memorable day it was.

And if you're looking for more party fun, here are links to a few more we've hosted!

What a cute party idea for those sweet girls! And I love that you combined them together! I have a feeling I would do something similar if we ever decide to have a second and birthdays are close :)
