This weekend started with a busy busy day on Friday! It was busy but fun!
Our daughter had a program on Friday afternoon at school and the parents were supposed to each bring a snack. I wasn't sure what I wanted to bring and my friend Jacinda talked me in to attempting a pinterest idea. I was happy that our kindergarten girl could do a lot of it on her own.
I've made pretzel hugs so many times but I've always used Hershey's Hugs. This time we used Hershey's Kisses and for some reason they would not melt!! This is the second batch. I would call them a pinterest fail but everyone seemed to think they were cute and tasty at the program. ;)
The second graders at our kiddos school only went on one field trip all year. I was so glad I signed up to chaperone at their open house (at the very beginning of the year!).
Bus selfie ;)
This is how I really felt about riding a bus full of second graders. Ha ha!
We watched a play at one of our local colleges then had lunch and spent a few hours at our science museum.
It was a nice day to eat lunch outside!
Our son's friend really loves turtles so we went to this section of the museum first. I somehow missed the memo that we were supposed to go to a demonstration first. Oops!
Love this one!
He looks like it pains him to let me take his picture. ;)
I know this picture is totally blurry but the boys spent a long time in "the crazy room". It makes me so dizzy! I loved being able to spend the day with my guy.
It worked out perfectly that we were back in plenty of time for me to make it to our daughter's fishes wishes program.
How cute are they?!
They each came to the microphone and talked about their fish. Our daughter's line was, "I want to be a ballerina fish so I can dance under the sea". :)
I love our little performer.
They sang several songs for us. They were all so cute.
They had a surprise for us (their glasses). You could tell they loved wearing them!
It is so fun to watch our kindergartner on stage. She is always animated.
So cute! I did not think both of their heads would fit but they proved me wrong. ;)
And then she wanted a picture by herself. This girl!
While we were having snacks, my neighbor Beth snapped this adorable picture. These four friends are so sweet!
I love this one!
We had dinner with the assistant coach and his family on Friday night at a yummy pizza place near our house. We spent a few hours at their house after dinner talking while the kids played. I'm not sure a sword in her hand is a great idea. ;)
The kids all decided they wanted to watch a movie in the play room. They started The Sandlot, but our kids decided "The Beast" was too scary for them.
Friday was a late night and we all slept in on Saturday. We played outside for a while and our daughter got out a couple of her birthday presents. She and I might have been fighting over this toy. It is fun!
Showing off her skills. ;)
So I had to show off mine too. Obviously!
This girl spent most of our time outside riding her bike.
The guys played catch.
Our 6 year old and I did some sidewalk chalk art on the driveway.
She drew an Olaf family. :)
It was such a hot day that the rain felt nice!
I celebrated my friend Sara's birthday with her on Saturday. We had so much fun together!
Love this girl!
Sunday morning I decided it was time to tackle the mess that is our play room in the basement! He moved toys around with his CAT.
In the afternoon they got our their kites and tried to fly them.
We really needed a more consistent wind but they still had fun.
We had dinner after the guys finished at baseball practice. For some reason our server gave each of the kids a free dessert. We thought that was nice of him!
I hope your week is off to a great start! We have the countdown to the end of school going at our house. 6 more days!
