Our son had big plans to make me breakfast in bed on Sunday morning but it didn't happen. He did make me a sweet card in school.
And our kindergarten girl made this beautiful picture for me at school.
They handed out roses to the Moms at church for various reasons. Don't be jealous of my fancy vase. ;) I got a rose for traveling the farthest to get to church (it's about 45-50 minutes from our house to the church Ken and my Mom attend), for having three generations at church, and two others that I can't remember. Ha ha! The girls gave me the purple flowers when I picked them up from the nursery/kids church.
After church each of the kids made a kite with some help from staff at the Fly a Kite Day event. I love my girl!
Listening intently to the man helping her make the kite.
He waited patiently to make his kite!
Grandpa Ken and the girls!
I saw some perfect photo ops while we were there! Even though it was overcast my kiddos still had squinty eyes so I grabbed all their sunglasses. ;)
We let my nephew and niece borrow sunglasses for their picture too.
Happy Mother's Day to our amazing Mom! We love you!
I love these six cousins so much! We are blessed to all be able to get together as often as we do.
Robert, his fiance Clarissa and his son.
My sister and her kiddos.
I love these three little people that made me a Mom so much. They are my whole world!
Mom and Ken
Love my Mom!
Travis picked up some pizzas for us and we ate lunch, had cake to celebrate summer birthdays (May to July) and then flew the kites the kids made earlier. This guy loved flying his kite!!
I think this was the first time our girls had flown kites. The wind was just right for kite flying!
Can you spot 4 cousins and their 4 kites? ;)
The boys flying their kites! My oldest nephew played catch instead of flying his kite.
She did such a good job flying her kite except she kept getting too close to the other kites and they kept getting tangled! Thanks Ken, Mom, and Travis for untangling them so many times!!
My guy :)
After her kite got tangled she went to the far corner of Ken and my Mom's yard to fly it away from the others.
My niece made a large dandelion bouquet! The grass (and dandelions) have been growing fast around here with all the rain we have had lately.
We stopped on the way home to wish my Grandma LaVon a Happy Mother's Day. Her shirt made me laugh. #dontruffleherfeathers
The girls had fallen asleep in the car but they woke up as I was chatting with my Grandma and Aunt. She wanted to get out and give Great-Grandma the dandelion bouquet that she had picked for her. ;) We are blessed that our kids get to know so many of their great-grandparents.
We had a tball and a minor league baseball game on the calendar for her actual birthday Monday night so we went to dinner to celebrate her birthday and Mother's Day on Sunday night. We let her pick since it was for her birthday and she chose one of my very favorites, Olive Garden. (She really is my mini!) The boys went to Buffalo Wild Wings on their own but the girls and I enjoyed our delicious dinner at Olive Garden!
Excited for dinner :)
I thought that her ballerina fish would be the last kindergarten project of the year, but I was wrong! They had one more assignment for May. It was to make a time line. We printed the pictures last Saturday but with such a busy week we didn't end up getting to the project until Sunday night. I love anything to do with pictures though (no surprise there!). We had fun putting it together.
Last sleep as a 5 year old! My babies are getting so big!
Happy 6th Birthday my love!
Birthdays 1-6
I thought this girl looked so cute in her MJ on Monday!
After a mix up on the date these cupcakes were needed and a 2nd trip to the store, we picked up cupcakes for our daughter's birthday snack at school. I thought they turned out cute! And they gave me half off because of the date mix up so I was happy.
We were glad to be able to have lunch with the birthday girl!
My bestie in Tennessee sent her this Lalaloopsy set that she wanted and it arrived on Monday! Perfect timing. Thank you Jacinda and family!!
This sweet girl fell asleep in the car about 3:15, got out and came in the house once we got home from picking up her brother and sister, and went back to sleep until almost 6:15! She was exhausted!
Christopher came home and surprised the birthday girl with a new bike! She was pretty excited! Now all of our kiddos have bikes that should last them for a while.
It had rained off and on all day so we only let her ride a little bit in the garage. There was actually a tornado warning for our area on Monday and they had to take cover at school. She said she and several of her friends were all crying. It made me sad for them.
A couple other small gifts from us.
The birthday girl's tball game was rescheduled due to all the rain, but the minor league game was still on. This girl wanted me to take her picture.
Sister love!
I think these are their Manic Monday faces. ;)
We had a fun couple of days celebrating Mother's Day and our kindergarten girl's 6th birthday! I hope your week is off to a great start!
