We started the long weekend with festive outfits on Thursday! We met Sarah and her boys for a play date at the park and I tried to get a picture of the 5 kids together. Tried is the key word! ;)
Even though their faces are in the shadow, at least Sarah's boys are looking! I have to say I love how our 3 year old looks like she is just basking in the sunshine though.
I thought I would try to at least get a good picture of my 3 in their festive outfits. It wasn't happening. Our 3 year old wouldn't stop making this face! I don't know what to call it, her chipmunk face? Whatever it was, her brother thought it was hysterical!
He even thought it was funny enough that he wanted to do it too. Kids! ;)
We traveled on the 4th and I attempted a picture in their Friday festive outfits as we were leaving the hotel. Our 5 year old is wearing the same shirt as Thursday. Our son can still wear his 4th of July outfits from the past two years and our 3 year old has a couple new outfits and a couple that were her sister's but our 5 year old only had two. Sorry sweets!
I told them they could do crazy faces after nice smiles. They do crazy well. ;)
We went to my father and mother-in-law's to grill out, play games and visit with everyone. Our 3 year old said she was staying in the car, but she warmed up pretty quickly.
Four of the five cousins playing with the beach ball.
Our son hates smiling for pictures but when I tried to take a picture of our 5 year old holding pom poms, this is what I got!
Future cheerleader??
My husband and two of his brothers playing kickball with the boys.
More kickball. My husbands youngest brother was pitching this time. Our son LOVED all the attention and playing kickball with the guys. I loved listening to his happy giggles as he played all night.
It was so nice catching up with my sister-in-laws! Anne is due with baby #2 in October and Lindsey just found out they are pregnant with baby #2. I'm so happy for them! They have some catching up to do. ;)
I was hoping for an adorable picture with my mini-me. This one is just okay. Love the "Big Book of Boo Boo's" (Doc McStuffins) she is holding that my sister-in-law Anne made for both our girls though. She's so creative and thoughtful!
Pat and Anne brought old bingo dobbers and sidewalk chalk. The girls were having fun creating while our nephew rode circles around them on the tricycle. ;)
Christopher had bought a few fireworks and these two were so cute as they watched them. Our 5 year old just loves her cousin!
Adorable! ♥
Crazy kid! ;)
Our 3 year old decided she wanted to sit and watch with the other girls. :)
I wanted to try to get a cute cousin picture. The 4 younger ones look so cute but our son would not put that beach ball down!
It is adorable cropped this way but I hated to crop him out!
Saturday morning the kids were up early and ready to go to the pool! (Even after a late night on Friday!)
Our daughter got goggles with her birthday money from my friend Jacinda and she couldn't wait to wear them! Unfortunately they don't fit her face that well.
Our sweet 3 year old tripped and fell right on her face within seconds of us getting to the pool! :( She had a bloody nose, but after she sat with me for a while she was still able to play. :)
I have to get a froggy slide picture every time we stay at this hotel!
Love this girl!!
Sweet siblings. ♥
We went back to my in-laws for lunch on the grill and a little 3rd birthday party for our nephew. This is how our son spends a lot of his time while we are there. He loves Scootie!
Another day, another attempt at a cousin picture. I think this one is really cute! Our 3 year old is making her chipmunk face again, but what can you do? ;)
I like this one too! I feel like our 5 year old looks like she is in pain even though she is smiling though. Definitely her tired smile. They were ready for naps!
One more try with just the girls!
We went back to the hotel for naps and outfit changes and everyone was ready for fireworks! I love this silly girl. :)
Grandpa Larry has a little studio set up in his garage and snapped a few of the kids in their festive outfits before we left for the fireworks. Our son was not in to having his picture taken! He wanted to walk down to the train with Grandma.
We attempted a quick family picture since the kids looked cute!
Grandma Jane and our 3 year old waiting for fireworks to start. ♥
The kids loved playing with Aunt Mary (and Uncle Mick). Our 5 year old said she loves Aunt Mary; that she is a "kid master". ;)
I am not sure what our 5 year old and niece were doing but they look incredibly sweet! ♥
Grandpa Larry captured this adorable cousin photo before the fireworks!
Christopher and his siblings
Auntie Anne brought glo necklaces and bracelets for all the kids. She's the best!
This boy!
We brought headphones for our 3 year old this year and she did not seem to mind the fireworks! She even clapped for some of them. Much better than last year!
Some of the fun characters my kids love. :)
We had a fun filled weekend with family! We are thankful to be able to celebrate our freedom in the land of the free, because of the brave!
