Sold!!!!!

We were so excited to build our first house. We sold our other house in 2008 and started building in early 2009. Our dream house didn't turn out to be the dream we thought it would be. After lots of issues and a story that could go on for hours, we ended up putting it on the market in July, 2010. We had over 50 showings in the 3 years it was on the market. We didn't do your average cleaning for a showing. We made the house nearly spotless, which was hard work and not much fun with three small children. The kids started to dread hearing the words, we have a showing. They knew that meant putting all their toys away, and a lot of time spent cleaning for Dad and Mom.

Even though our house was on the market the majority of the time we lived there, we made a lot of memories there of course. Our son was only 2 1/2 when we first moved in and both our daughters came home to that house when they were born. As excited as we were to finally put a SOLD sign in our yard, it is definitely bittersweet too. It's so hard to say goodbye, to yesterday. I could cry just thinking about it.

Anyway, it is amazing how quickly you forget what a pain moving really is! It is especially dreadful when you now have the belongings for a family of 5 to move. The kids were really pretty good about it, and they spent some fun time with friends and with Grandpa Ken and Grandma Pam while we packed and moved.

When they were at home with us, they were such good helpers with the packing! ;)

Perfect fit!

Our packing strategy was first to get everything moved from the basement and the upstairs to the main floor. The main floor got a little crowded! The kids didn't even seem to notice. ;)

It's MOVING DAY!

Our son was pretty excited to ride in the moving truck.

And our daughter was excited to drive! ;)

We found out pretty quickly that it isn't easy to find a good sized rental for a decent price in our area. Thankfully we found a ranch that fits all of our stuff fairly well. It is a little cramped because we downsized, but it will work for us until we build our new house. Thank you so much to our family and friends that helped us with the packing and moving. We couldn't have done it without you!!
