I do not like snakes, not one bit, but for some reason my kids have recently decided they will pet, touch or hold them when given the opportunity. Yay. ;)
I had to laugh when we got to the hyena area and she climbed up and posed, waiting for me to take her picture.
Little sister wanted to be in the picture too!
And so did their friend. :)
My kids aren't the only ones who make crazy faces in pictures. You have to love them!
The 5 year olds wanted to feed the giraffe.
Until the giraffe licked our 5 year old with that long, slimy tongue! Ha ha!
Carissa helped our 3 year old feed the giraffe the lettuce that our 5 year old dropped when she was licked. ;)
Sweet sisters! ♥♥
We can't go to the zoo and not get a couple of drum pictures.
They didn't want to share a drum!
We went to the area with the kangaroos which isn't my favorite, not because of the kangaroos (they're adorable) but because of the red sand that gets on your shoes and stroller wheels. They are remodeling that area of the zoo this year though and the first phase of the remodel is so nice! I'm excited to see the finished project. The girls were learning about baby kangaroos.
I stopped her before she sat down on Mr Frog because I didn't want red sand on her skirt. ;)
We ate lunch in this newly remodeled area. I loved the new seating area with all the tables and chairs! The younger two kids are watching a bird. :)
3 sweet girls on the train ♥
As part of the remodel there is a place where you can walk across the train tracks. The girls were watching as the train went by.
We wanted to see the sea lions but all of them were napping in the sun.
Pretty!
Carissa's son is at the age when kids just want to run! He was in his stroller most of the day, but he got out for a while and had his picture taken with the hawk and two crazy girls.
We had been at the zoo over 4 hours by this point and the kids were getting tired but they still posed for a picture on the turtle.
We had a fun day at the zoo with Carissa and two of her three kids! We are so fortunate to have such a great zoo close by. :)
