Under Construction

I've mentioned a few times on the blog that we are building a new house. This is actually the third time we have gone through the process of building. We never lived in the second house but that is a long story I won't go in to. ;) I shared a few weeks ago when they broke ground, and on Monday they started framing the basement. Yay! That makes it feel more like a house. I'm so visual that I love being able to see where each room will be.

We all went out on Sunday afternoon to check things out and we brought scooters for the older two. It made me realize our son really needs a scooter upgrade!

There are a lot of rocks on the road because there are several new constructions in the area, so it made it a little more challenging to ride their scooters!

I realized our older daughter was about 3 when she got her scooter, so I asked her to let her little sister take a turn. She did pretty well! I think we will need to get her a scooter for the summer too.

The boys going to see how much the framers got done on Monday. Love this picture of them.

This picture is a little deceiving because of where I was standing (looks like it would be the main floor), but it is the framed basement.

Happy happy guy!

Our 3 year old had fallen asleep in the car, but the older two wanted to check things out!

Love this of our pretty girl.

This boy can not stay out of the dirt when we are there! At least he keeps himself safely entertained.

She couldn't let him have all the fun. ;)

The kids and I usually only go to the lot on the weekends; but I love seeing the framing stage because it comes together so quickly. We went out again tonight to see what progress they made today.

I have not been as excited as I feel like I should be through the building process up to this point. There are several factors but one of the big ones is that the lot is on the opposite side of our city and takes us about 25 minutes farther south of where we live currently. I am comfortable where we are and not looking forward to being farther from my family and most of our friends. (I know it is just across town, but it will still be a lot of change!)  I have to admit that now that the trees are cleared and I can tell where exactly the house will sit; it really is a beautiful setting and a great lot. It feels like you are in the country, but has all the benefits of a subdivision. I look forward to seeing it all come together and sharing bits and pieces with you along the way!
