Easter Weekend

We had a busy weekend! The kids and I went to Easter with my Dad's side on Saturday, church on Sunday, Easter with my Step-Dad's side after church, and finally did our own egg hunt that Dad the Easter Bunny got ready while we were gone. I feel like I needed another day to recover from the weekend, but we had a lot of fun. It was so nice to see a lot of our extended family that we haven't seen for a while.

The kids before the egg hunt at Easter on Saturday. My cousin Julie told me her daughter hates to have her picture taken. She said the smile she has in the picture is her mad smile. ;) But she's so pretty!

I think our sweet 2 year old had forgotten what this egg hunting thing was all about, but she got the hang of it again pretty quickly!

She found another one!

Our 4 year old finding an egg.

The adults told the kids to leave the eggs that were on the ground or in plain sight for the little kids, so my son passed by every one he saw! He is such a rule follower. When I realized he didn't have any eggs yet, my cousin who helped hide the eggs walked with him so he found the # each kid was allowed to find.

His last egg was in the umbrella. ;)

Wild boys!

I tried with zero success to get a picture of our three with their baskets. At least one of them let me take their picture. ;)

My sister and my cousin Julie's daughter. She really does hate to have her picture taken!

I was standing in the garage talking and thought I heard screaming. I ran out to the driveway to see our son and 4 year old running at top speed across the yard with Lucy chasing after them! They just aren't around dogs alot, and even though Lucy is super sweet she is huge and they didn't realize when they were running she thought they were playing with her. Our son was fine, but it took me a minute to get our 4 year old calmed down. She and Lucy made up and they are friends now. ;)

Sisters!  As my cousin was taking this picture for us, my Grandma says, "Are you taking one of those 'me pictures'? What do they say about those, that you will get head lice?"  I'm not sure if I thought it was more funny that she called it a "me picture" or that she said it might give you head lice!  Oh how I love that lady!

We stopped by my Dad's for a few minutes after we left my grandparent's and my brother let the kids try out my nephew's birthday present. They were loving it!

Except the girl in the driver's seat here. She thought she wanted to be both a passenger and the driver, but didn't like either.

Saturday evening we went to the lot. They have the trees cleared and the house staked. They should be breaking ground this week! I'm not sure yet exactly how much of the build I am going to share on the blog, but I will definitely share pictures occasionally.

Happy Easter! He is risen!

We had a little time between church and Easter at my uncle and aunt's house so we tried to get a few pictures. This one turned out great, first try!

And then there are my kids and I. I don't know how many times we tried, and this is the best we could get. Kids! ;)  I told our 4 year old before church that I had pretty dresses for her and her sister, but I didn't know what I was going to wear and she said, "I think you should wear a dog shirt."  Ha ha!

My youngest brother took some pictures of my sister and I and all our kids for us. It was pretty windy. Love your hair sis! ;)

Best one of all of us. Love them!

Laura had lunch and games for the adults and then the kids were ready to do their egg hunt!

Look at all those kids! We missed my brother and his fiance on Sunday and missed my nephew all weekend.

They had two areas; one for the younger kids and one for the older kids. There were over 200 eggs hidden so each kid got plenty of eggs!

I took a lot of pictures of the kids during the egg hunt and playing after.

My girls were excited when I told them these girls were going to be at Easter. They had fun playing with them a couple weeks ago at my Step-dad and Mom's.

Buddies!

The kids were all trying to squeeze in to this castle to play.

Look at the static in that hair!

Cute!

Taking his turn as king of the castle ;)

And queen!

My niece's turn ;)

Sand fun!

Back to the castle

Pretty girls

And a couple more pretty girls ;)

I tried again to get a picture of these three together.

Last but not least, the egg hunt at our house!

I felt like she looked like a pretty princess in her Easter dress.

This is her, Mom let me go find more eggs, smile. ;)

I found my basket!

Yay, my basket!

His basket was hidden a little bit harder.

He loves the Hershey's cookies and cream chocolate bars so he was pretty excited about this bunny!

A couple of mini Lalaloopsy dolls to add to her collection. :)

Snow White is her favorite princess.

All the bunnies, chocolates, baskets and egg hunts are fun but they are really just fluff. We are so thankful for the real reason we celebrate Easter. He is Risen indeed!
