Trunk or Treat

The weather forecast for Halloween around here is not looking good for trick or treating. We can handle a little rain, but going door to door in a thunderstorm doesn't sound like fun to me. We were hoping that trick or treating would get postponed, but it has not. The trunk or treat at a local church that we have gone to the past two or three (?) years, was held tonight from 6-8. I decided to take the kids for some Halloween fun in case trick or treating on Halloween just doesn't happen.

I invited Sarah and the boys to come with us to trunk or treat. She was concerned about the forecast for Halloween too and I told her we would love to have them join us. Love this one of our pirate (third year in a row ;)) and Sarah's ninjas!

It is our Halloween tradition to trick or treat with my sister and her family. We planned to trick or treat door to door on Thursday, but again with all the rain in the forecast, she decided to do the trunk or treat tonight also. My nephew made a great Dracula! :)

I love how they are color coordinated in purples and pinks. ;)

Cousins! Our pretty little butterfly was very unsure about standing anywhere near Dracula. I don't think she ever realized it was her cousin!

Our whole trunk or treating crew :)

After doing their trunk or treating outside and jumping in the bounce house and going down an inflatable slide, we went inside to play a few more games.

It took her at least 5 tries but she eventually hit one of the "pins". ;)

Our son was SO excited to try to win a goldfish. His Mom wasn't quite as thrilled but it meant so much to him and wouldn't you know, he won on his first try. Our daughter won one also. He said, Mom I'm so happy, we finally have a pet!

Sarah's older son won a goldfish too. Yay! ;) Her younger son didn't win one but still ended up with one after my high school friend Sara (she goes to church there) grabbed him one from the "tank". Thanks again Sara!

Our sweet little butterfly stayed right by my side the whole night! That is not like her at all. There were a lot of people there and I think she was overwhelmed but she still seemed to have fun.

My girls were both so tired by the time we left the church but we made a quick stop at my Dad's house to trick or treat my brother and his fiance.

Even if we don't get to trick or treat door to door tomorrow night, I think the kids have had some Halloween fun at the zoo and at tonight's trunk or treat.

Happy Halloween 2013!!!
