The fun all started on Thursday night. Sara has helped me pack and/or unpack for no less than three or four moves, so I was happy to be able to help her this time!
I made sure our Kindle Fire was fully charged because the girls came with me on Friday. There are times when electronics come in handy and this was one of those times! And how cute is she in her animal headphones? :) My step-dad Ken helped on Friday too and I know she really appreciated it! (He might be just a tad stronger than I am).
It got late Friday night and my brother took the girls with him when he was done helping move. (Thank you for your help too Robert, you're the best!). I knew Sara needed our help on Saturday too so we all stayed at my Dad's instead of making the 45 minute drive home and back again in the morning.
Sara's boys entertained themselves by playing baseball on Saturday morning.
And my girls entertained themselves with Melissa and Doug sticker books.
Yes, those are the same clothes as Friday. I didn't have extra clothes for them with me. #momfail
I've been wanting to try a new church near our house since the end of February and finally got the courage to go on Sunday morning! These two were looking especially adorable.
I wasn't sure how she would do in kid's church because she hasn't gone to preschool and her older sister wasn't in her class but she loved it! I mean, she got a crown. How can you go wrong? ;) We all enjoyed the service and plan to continue attending! It really helped that a friend of our daughter's from her kindergarten class attends that church and her super sweet Mom showed us around!
The boys had baseball stuff to do so the girls and I ran a couple errands after church and went to Fazoli's for lunch. So good for inexpensive Italian food!
We decided to go to the zoo for a couple hours after lunch. I love having a membership!
It started to rain as soon as we got through the entrance but we had our umbrellas.
We got to a part of the zoo with buildings as fast as we could! I love that they are both on old phones. They asked me the other day what a house phone was. Oh boy!
She's not so sure about the snake.
They were interested in the komodo dragon. It's always there but isn't usually up walking around.
Hanging out in a hammock
And then they want their pictures taken individually.
Girls ;)
The baby orangutan is so cute! It's hard to really see in the picture but it was playing and looking at us.
Our 4 year old can never see things when we try to point something out to her. It never fails; an airplane, a hot air balloon, a cow or a horse as we are driving past it. She always says she can't see it. I think her vision is fine; she just doesn't know where she's supposed to be looking. Not surprisingly, she had trouble finding the baby orangutan.
Two lovely little ladies by the waterfall.
They picked the carousel for their ride this visit.
The tigers were walking right up to the glass!
I'm glad there was glass between us!
I'm not sure what this pose is. ;)
Watching some of the monkeys.
I sure love these two! We really missed their big brother all weekend when we were helping move and the guys had baseball!
She decided to smile nicely for the picture of just her. Ha ha!
They were happy to be at the zoo!
If you look closely you can see both the male and female lion on the hill.
Our 6 year old did a great job taking this picture!
We had to ask another zoo guest to take this one. Our 4 year old wasn't the best photographer.
The girls had been talking about feeding the giraffes the whole time we were at the zoo. We got to the platform and none of them were by the platform to be fed. The girls were bummed but we sat for a while and just watched them. A few minutes later one giraffe came up to eat and the girls were so excited!
The two girls shared a piece of lettuce and they both had fun feeding the giraffe.
It was a little harder to give the giraffe the smaller piece of lettuce but she did it!
And it's not a trip to the zoo without doing a little bit of drumming.
We had a fun couple hours at the zoo and got home just as it started to rain again! We finished the weekend with a night at home. The kids love those nights sometimes because they can play with their own toys and use their creative thinking.
Have a great week friends!

What a fun weekend! I love the pictures from the zoo!
Looks like a busy, but fun weekend! Your post reminded me that we need to take the kids to a zoo soon. Just wish we had one close.
Thank you! We love having a great zoo so close!
It was Misty! We really are lucky to have an awesome zoo so close. I definitely enjoy it as much as the kids do. :)
