On Friday morning our 3 year old and I met my friend Jen and her 2 year old at a coffee shop that also has a play area for kids. What a great idea! Moms can chat while the kids play. Except our girls didn't spend a lot of time playing in the play area. ;) Isn't that the way it always happens with kids? Things never go quite as planned, but it was still great to meet up with them! At one point Jen and I counted at least 20 kids in the play area!
My Mom came over Friday afternoon to get an outfit to borrow for a night out on Saturday with my Step-Dad and friends of his from high school that she had never met. I thought she looked great! Our 5 year old said, Grandma looks like you in that picture Mom. ;)
On Saturday our kindergartner and I had a "girls day" with Robin and her daughter. These little bff's are so sweet! We hadn't seen them in a while and it was a happy reunion. :) They were so cute in their matchy matchy MJ. We had a yummy lunch at Olive Garden. ♥
After lunch we did a little shopping at the mall. The girls both wanted to ride with Robin over to the mall. Robin told me that on the way over her daughter said she wanted to take ours to school for show and tell. Ha ha! They were calling these scarves "Elsa scarves".
The girls were excited to ride the carousel. Love my sweet girl! ♥
At one point while we were shopping, she told me I'm the "best mom ever" for this day.
Robin and her daughter. Beautiful ladies!
Shopping made us hungry and thirsty so we stopped for a snack. The girls split a snowflake cookie with blue icing. It was an Elsa cookie of course. ;)
Robin and I both ordered shirts to support the #mandastrong booster. Even though Sunday was declared "wear your Manda Strong tee day", we thought it would be fun to take a picture together wearing our shirts on Saturday. You can read more about the booster here.
Robin took this of the girls as we were getting ready to leave the mall. Our kindergartner looooves seeing her bff and can get a little upset when it's time to go! I'm glad she was smiling for Robin. We had such a fun girl's day with them!
Our kindergartner and I made a quick stop at Target before we went home. We saw these fun glasses and of course we had to try them on.
Candles were on sale at Bath and Body. I'm loving this fall scent!
The five of us ran a few errands on Saturday night. The kids had to check out the artificial Christmas trees at Home Depot.
She was one happy girl when we picked up her Elsa ornament from Hallmark!
Our 3 year old fell asleep on me on Saturday night. I enjoyed snuggling with my "baby". Love those moments! ♥
We had plans to meet my friend Jacinda from TN and her family for dinner on Sunday night. She mentioned on Sunday morning that their daughter didn't have a winter coat yet. I thought I had a couple that might fit her. As I looked for jackets, the girls got out all of our winter hats and accessories. ;)
I think this hat is a little small for her. Ha ha!
The kindergarten family project for November is to disguise a turkey so the farmer can't find it when it's time for dinner. Our daughter chose to disguise her turkey as a ballerina.
The farmer will never find her now. ;)
Brad and Jacinda's baby just turned a year old at the end of October. She was precious playing peek a boo at dinner.
After dinner we let the girls sit in the saddle for a minute. Pretty girl!
♥
I love this of Jacinda and I! Brad must be a great photographer because he got this one on the first try.
All the kids except my son. He stayed with Christopher while the girls and I went to dinner. Thanks again for dinner Brad and Jacinda. It's always so good to see you when you're in town! Love y'all. ♥
As I was working on my blog post for today it made me think of the quote from Polar Express, "there's no greater gift than friendship". I am blessed to have some amazing friends in my life. Have a great week!
