Water Slide!

My cousin Brooke graduates high school tomorrow and the kids and I attended her graduation party this afternoon. The kids have been so excited because she is the daughter of my Uncle and Aunt with the world's longest slip and slide, paddle boat, beach area, etc.  All I have heard about for the past couple of days is going on the water slide. ;)

My niece loved going on her own, with her Mom, with her brother and with our girls. 

Our girls were really unsure about going by themselves at first, so I took a few turns with them. I do love the water slide too!

These two tried to go together but our son let go of her hand and she was not happy about it! 

Once she got brave enough to try it on her own, she loved it! She kept using her hands like paddles. Ha ha! I thought she was trying to make herself go further, but she told me later she was trying to get Aunt Stacey!

My 4 year old nephew didn't want to go at first either, but he was going by himself sitting upright and on his belly once he got comfortable.

Our 3 year old wanted to go by herself (of course!) and every time she did, she ended up on her belly or back but she always got right up at the bottom with a smile on her face.  (Even the time her Mom very unintentionally ran in to her!)

I had to nearly pull these three away from the slide. They were shivering and shaking but they still wanted to keep going! They warmed up quickly with a little break in these fun chairs.

The morning radio show I listen to was talking about the "summer selfie" a week or two ago and I couldn't resist. I am just missing my Red's Apple Ale in the corner of the picture. ;)

What a perfect quote for a day like today!  Our son has been out of school just over a week and we have already checked off lots of things on our summer to do list: frozen yogurt, donuts, play dates, park, zoo, baseball game, strawberry picking and the giant slip and slide.  Summer is off to a fantastic start!
