Splash Pad!

We met up with our play group friends at a local splash pad on Wednesday. Again, we were missing our 1st graders; her older daughter is also in 1st grade. I feel guilty having fun without our sweet guy, but I know he is having fun with his friends at lunch and recess and our 4 year old is not shy about telling me when she has had a "boring day"! ;)

The forecast called for a high in the lower 80's, but it was not all that warm when we met at the splash pad! Our 4 year old and 2 year old still played for quite a while before saying they were cold.

Carissa always brings buckets for the kids to play with. She is always prepared! Our 2 year old really liked playing with this bucket.

Love this one!

These sisters play so well together at times. Our 2 year old adores her big sister, her "E". It melts my heart when they hold hands and when they play dolls and princesses. Our 4 year old will help get our 2 year old dressed and call her "honey" or "sweetie". I try to remind them often to be kind to each other.

Our 4 year old checked out a book at the library called "Fancy Nancy; Fanciest Doll in the Universe" on Thursday after story time. One of the first lines says, "Jo Jo is my little sister. My parents say she is a handful, which is polite for really naughty." That pretty well describes our 2 year old right now. At the end it says, "But JoJo won't always be (so) naughty. Little by little, she'll become more mature... she'll act grown up and responsible, like you." What a fitting book to read to our 4 year old!

Our 2 year old can certainly be a handful, but she just loves to explore and be independent and she really means well most of the time. She will bring her brother and sister their water or their shoes if we are getting ready to go somewhere or she will pick up their granola bar or string cheese wrappers and throw them away if they have left them where they don't belong.  She will get out of her chair at meal time and come around the table to give all of us a kiss and a hug with a little pat on our backs.  You have to love her, the naughty and the nice!

Brrrr! This water is cold!

They think it is so funny to fill the buckets and dump them over their heads!

Filling her bucket.

The 4 year old's drying off and warming up!

Three pretty girls eating their picnic lunch :)

Our 2 year old loves "babies" (Although Carissa's son is turning 1 this week!)

Even though the weather wasn't ideal for the splash pad, the kids had a great time playing together as always!
