Princess Party Prep

When our 3 year old and I talked about what theme she wanted for her birthday party this year, the obvious choice was Disney Princess. She doesn't necessarily have a favorite princess, so I decided to incorporate several of the princesses in the decorations. Our younger daughter will play with princesses with her big sister, but I'm not sure she would have chosen a princess party for her 2nd birthday. I don't think the theme matters much to her though and we have planned a joint party for the girls last year and this year because their birthdays are only two weeks apart, so a princess party it was!

I had so much fun with the party prep! I did a lot of searching on Pinterest and Etsy for ideas and found some great sites. I got most of the ideas that I used from this blog.  My decorations were not nearly extensive as those were, but I am really happy with how they turned out!  I sent my best friend in Tennessee a picture of something similar to these frames that I found on Pinterest. A few weeks later these beautiful frames came in the mail. Love it that she was able to help with the party even from states away. Thanks again Jacinda! I love them!!

I found the idea for this pinata on Pinterest here. I found the photo online and printed it then blew it up in to two 8x10's at Office Max. My friend Sara came over one afternoon and helped me so much in getting ready for the party! Thank you Sara; I don't think I could have done it all without you!  We wrapped a diaper box and just taped a photo to the front and back of the box. What a fun and inexpensive pinata!

I ordered these extremely glittery princess wands online and they were much bigger than I expected! They worked out well as centerpieces for the table though and each of the girls was able to take one home. I'm sure their parents appreciated having glitter all over their vehicles. ;)

Princess Ariel's Sea Shell collection

Cinderella's Glass Slippers

The glass slippers filled with blue Sixlets and the buckets filled with chocolates that Sara and I made in the shape of sea shells.  Thank you to my cousin Rachel for letting me borrow the molds for the chocolates.

A few more fun things that were on the "dessert table" including the Bippity Boppity Boo Wands. :)

I can not thank my friend Angie enough for this beautiful cake! I saw pictures of a Barbie cake similar to this one that she had made before and asked if she could do Rapunzel. I was so happy with how it turned out. She has made the cakes for every one of our kid's birthday parties. This might be my new favorite! She did a contest on her fb page and I was the lucky winner, so my 2 dozen cupcakes were free. Yay! I got the cupcake toppers, table tent-style labels, and the princess favor tags that we glued to the buckets for the sea shells from TheBirthdayHouse on Etsy.  Kim was great to work with!

I was proud of how the dessert table turned out. I thought it was so pretty (and yummy!).

Thank you so much to my friend Carissa for making BINGO cards, which we renamed ROYAL, with Princesses for the girls and Princes for the boys.  They turned out so cute!  I really appreciate it and I think the kids all had fun playing! Thanks for letting me borrow your hot glue gun and sending me links with ideas for glass slippers, buckets for the chocolates and various other things also!

And thank you to my sister-in-law Anne for sending me ideas and for letting me bounce ideas off of her for weeks! I love to plan birthday parties for the kids, but I always have a lot of help. :)
