Easter Egg Hunt

I took the kids to an Easter Egg Hunt at a church just down the road from us this afternoon. The church is at the intersection of two pretty busy roads so I was a little nervous that there would be 100's of kids! They had a lot of eggs out for the kids to find though and it wasn't too packed.

It is never an easy task getting a picture of these 3 together! Is it just my kids or do kids sunglasses never seem to fit their faces quite right?

My friend Sarah and her family met us at the egg hunt. This is my attempt at a picture of all 5 kids. Her older son is the only one looking at the camera. ;) I guess they had better things to do, like see what treats they got in the eggs!

Our sweet girl didn't get too many eggs but I am sure by next year she will have the idea and be running with the big kids!

As we were getting candy out of the eggs, the older kids went to play on a little playground area they have at the church.  Our 3 year old went down a slide that apparently makes them go really fast and went flying off the end and landed on her face in the rocks.  :(  I heard screaming and ran over to her.  Her hands and face (and her new pink jacket!) were already covered in blood.  I did my best to stay calm and tried to see where the blood was coming from.  Her lip was busted open and she had some indents on her chin from the rocks and a few cuts on her hands.  I was thankful that she hadn't chipped or knocked out any teeth.

Sarah and several people that must have organized the egg hunt were so nice to offer to help get her cleaned up, etc.  She is so tough that once I got her she calmed down and let me clean her up.  We of course went home and got it cleaned up some more and put ice on it. Thankfully she didn't seem to need stitches or anything and lips heal quickly!  My poor girl always seems to be getting hurt!!  I think a lot of it is her age, 3 (almost 4), and I'm hoping she will grow out of it!

Besides the minor injury at the end, the egg hunt was fun and the kids had a great time hunting eggs and playing with their friends!
