This week at Kelly's Korner is Show Us Your Life- Proposal Stories. I decided to play along because I think we have a neat proposal story. We started dating in March of 2003 and he told me after a friends wedding in July 2004 that he'd bought me a ring but I had no idea when he would propose. We planned a weekend trip late August or early September 2004 (I can't remember!) to Navy Pier in Chicago including a lunch and cruise around Lake Michigan on the Mystic Blue and a Brewers game with his family the next day. I had never been to Navy Pier so it was a fun day of new experiences. I actually kept saying at various times during the day something like, wow this would be a really neat place to propose wouldn't it? I had no idea that it was his plan to propose that day.
We miniature golfed and rode the Ferris Wheel before lunch and then it was time to board the Mystic Blue for our lunch cruise. The food was delicious but I noticed he was acting kind of strange and wanted to eat quickly so we could go to the upper deck of the ship and look at Chicago from the lake while we were on the cruise. We made our way up to the top deck and he got down on his knee and asked me to be his wife. Very sweet! We had different opinions on rings and he got the one he liked and I'm glad he did. I love my beautiful ring. We were married almost exactly a year later in September 2005.

A nice couple offered to take our picture when they realized we just got engaged. We look so young!
