Thanksmas

We had a Thanksgiving/Christmas with my Mom's side of the family on Sunday. It was good to see my Grandpa and his wife and all the uncles, aunts and cousins that we don't see often through the year and to share a delicious meal. We started with a White Elephant exchange. Our older two kids wanted to participate so we had 4 gifts in the exchange this time. It is really hit or miss whether you will come home with good gifts or not at this side of the family. ;) Some people put in good gifts and others are more gag gifts. We were happy to get pretty good gifts this time! I got a Thirty-One bag, bath and body works soap and a couple of hot pads and we ended up some clothes and toys for a baby doll and several bags of candy. The kids were happy about that of course!

This was Grandpa's weekend to work (he's a 6:30pm to 6:30am guy) so we didn't think he would be coming, but he was able to make it for a couple of hours. :)

This sweet girl fell asleep on the way to the church so she was still waking up a little while we did the white elephant exchange.

Our sweet 4 year old. I ordered this scarf on GAP.com after seeing it on Mix and Match Family, but my sister and a couple of my cousins let me know as soon as we got there that it did not look good with the shirt I was wearing. I hated to admit they were probably right. The shirt is more red on than what it looked like in her picture.  I still love both the shirt and the scarf though!  Our 4 year old was happy to wear the scarf instead. ;)

Our nephew chose a gift that came from my Mom. An old purse. ;)

I won't post what our Elf "Scootie" is up to every day but since I am posting anyway, on the 2nd morning he had colored part of a picture in both the Elf on the Shelf coloring books.

Tomorrow morning the kids will find him being a little bit mischievous taking a marshmallow bubble bath. Thank goodness for Pinterest and Instagram for fun Elf ideas!
