A blogger I started following this year did a daily post called shayeveryday2013 and posted at least one picture about her day, each day of the year. She wrote this in her review of her 2013 shayeveryday posts. "Here's the thing though...2013 wasn't all sunshine and roses. I cried a lot, my feelings were hurt, I was angry, I was stressed, I was tired, I was a normal mom with normal problems. That being said, I really try and find some piece of happiness and joy in every single day God gives me. Some days sucked this year...but I managed to squeeze out a tiny piece of happiness in a silly photo. I highly recommend you document your life in 2014. It has been such a blessing to have my year in pictures and of course, I will be doing it again next year. #shayeveryday2014 comin' your way January 1 :)".
I try to stay positive and highlight the fun times we have together on this blog. I have to admit though, 2013 was a hard year for me on many days. I haven't been the wife, Mom, daughter, sister, friend, child of God that I feel like I am called to be. I yell too much, I swear too much (People are sometimes surprised when I tell them that; but I am ashamed to admit it is true), I'm not affectionate enough, I worry too much about my house being clean and not enough about spending quality time with my children every day, I don't eat enough (that may sound strange but with our crazy schedule this year I've found myself often skipping breakfast and/or lunch and I'm not at a healthy weight for a 33 year old Mom of 3). I recognize the areas where I need work and I truly hope to work on those things in 2014!
One way I want to try to make sure I focus on the positive each and every day is to document each day like the other blogger suggested. I plan to post an #amyeveryday2014 picture on Instagram. I think it will help to remind me daily of all the things I have to be thankful for. Here's to a new year and a fresh start! I am so thankful that God's Grace is more than enough and we start anew each and every day. Happy New Year friends!
Rejoice always, pray continually, GIVE THANKS in all circumstances!
