Pool Fun and a Recipe

We went to my Uncle and Aunt's today to swim and have lunch. They live in Florida but spend their summer's here so it was nice to spend some time with them. We don't go swimming that often because I have three non-swimmers so it's not easy unless there is a good adult to child ratio. My older two (especially my son) ask me every night, "what are we doing tomorrow?" I didn't tell them we were going swimming today until they woke up this morning and they were so excited. My daughter said, "I'm just so happy today." I love the things kids say!

I think my favorite part of this picture is my nephew either half way on or half way off my brother's shoulders.  I'm not sure what he was trying to do!

Our baby loves the water and she really loved chasing after the ball.

This girl is fearless! She jumped in to the water over and over again.

My nephew and the younger of my two brothers

This boy continues to amaze me! He was terrified when he first got in the water and would not let my Mom let go of him. After about half an hour and some coaching and silliness with my sister, he was kicking his feet and eventually agreed to let go of her hands. Thanks Aunt Stacey!!  He is still far from swimming, but he definitely learned he can trust his life jacket and he had such a great time. Baby steps!  Thanks Uncle Chad and Aunt Lindsey for the life jackets you got the kiddos for Christmas!

My sweet niece

She was so cute watching everyone swim while she dried off. She melts this Momma's heart.

Water volleyball with the beach ball

When we were deciding what to bring for lunch I offered to bring grapes and Pringles.  My kids love to have Pringles whenever we pack a picnic lunch.  I buy the whole grain, that makes them healthy right? ;)  I saw a recipe for grape salad on my cousin's facebook page and remembered having it at a baby shower.  It sounded easy so I decided to try it and it was so good! It is certainly not the healthiest way to eat grapes but it tastes delicious!

Grape salad

8oz cream cheese (softened)

1 cup powdered sugar

8 oz cool whip (thawed)

1 bag grapes, washed and thoroughly dried

Beat together cream cheese and powdered sugar until well mixed.

Fold in cool whip, combine well.

Fold in grapes, combine well.

Chill in refrigerator at least two hours before serving.

Enjoy!!
