We threw a joint birthday party for our girls on May 12 at the Community Center where we have had the majority of our birthday parties for the kids. Their birthdays are only two weeks apart so I thought it only made sense to have a joint party rather than two separate parties within a couple weeks of each other.
Happy happy birthday to our beautiful little monkeys who are now 3 and 1!!
My cousin Rachel made their monkey pillowcase dresses. Love them!
The older of the 2 birthday girls (and her "best buddy" in the background) :)
Checking out the incredibly adorable birthday cake made by my friend Angie. She always makes the cutest cakes. This one was lemon on the top and marble on the bottom layer. Delicious!!
Can't have a party without balloons!
These birthday girls melt my heart!
A few of the family and friends at the party
Great-grandparents and grandparents of the birthday girls. 5 of their 6 local great-grandparents and 4 of their 5 grandparents were able to come. We are so blessed!
I realize this is a ridiculous amount of smash cake pictures but I couldn't choose just a few so I decided a 32 picture collage would work. :) Thank you for capturing such good pictures Grandpa Larry and Daddy!
I had a lot of help throwing their party! I appreciate you all so much!
My talented sister-in-law Anne made the Happy Birthday banner on the wall. It was so detailed and beautiful! She also made the monkey cut outs for the favor bags.
My
friend Adrienne helped make the tissue paper poms. Easy and fun!
Thank you for helping with set up and clean up and for bringing your
famous roll ups Ade! :)
My
friend Carissa helped make (okay she did most of it, I have to say I helped her make) the potted flower
centerpieces and she also made the monkey clips for the girls hair.
I
used my friend Sara's recipe for stewed chicken in the crockpot for
sandwiches. It was super easy and very yummy. I also attempted palm
trees made with sliced kiwi for the leaves, banana for the trunks and
clementine cuties for the rocks at the bottom that I saw on pinterest.
People loved the fruit but I'm pretty sure no one knew it was supposed
to look like a palm tree. Ha!
My Mom made at least 100 mini banana muffins that were so delicious!
My
mother-in-law helped set up and helped serve the food and my
father-in-law took lots of great pictures and they both helped with
clean up. Not to mention they drove 8 hours to be here.
Several
people helped with clean up which is so nice. After all the
preparation and fun at the party, cleaning up is the last thing I feel
like doing!
We had such a fantastic time celebrating our amazing daughters. God has truly blessed us with three incredible gifts. Thank you so much to everyone who came and helped make the party a success!
