My little man, on the other hand, had only napped for approximately 20 minutes that day and it showed! We didn't stay at my grandparents house for much more than an hour because when my little guy is tired his attitude is not fantastic. It was a fit about any and every thing. I left feeling more than a little flustered and slightly embarassed that he acted that way in front of my family and extended family. Doesn't it always seem our kids act the worst when we want them to act their best? Or maybe that's just mine. I doubt it. I got home and read this post on discipline by MckMama. Great timing! It was just what I needed to read at that exact moment. The first thing she talks about is how she's learned not to take her kids out and about, if possible, when they are tired. Lesson learned here! I'm also practicing "extinction" with the fit throwing and hoping that in a week or two it will have stopped. I'm trying to incorporate several of her ideas actually. Ah the joys of an almost 3 year old.
