Our Little Love Bug

Our little guy is on my mind so I thought I would blog about him. (When is he not on my mind?) He is growing and changing so fast, he's such a little man! Everything he does just continues to make us laugh, smile, and be amazed at how much he is learning. He will be two on October 1st! Lists are fun so I will make a list of things he likes, loves, and what he's learned at 23 months.

1. He usually wakes up while I'm getting ready in the morning and he LOVES to watch Barney! I never thought I would let any child of mine watch Barney, but he really likes music so he likes all the songs and the kids on the show, (and Baby Bop, BJ, and Riff).

2. He runs to the "snack" cupboard every day when we get home. I am pretty sure Daddy and Grandma Pam ("Ma") are turning him in to a snack junkie! I will not take responsibility for that one. He loves oatmeal creme pies ("pie") and curious george fruit snacks ("nack").

3. He loves trucks. He won't say "truck", he still calls them "vrooms" but he will say car and van.

4. I think he sometimes dreams about riding the four wheeler with Grandpa Ken ("Pa"). He woke up one morning this week with his cute messy hair and sleepy eyes and said, "pa", "four" before he was even fully awake.

5. He loves loves loves to read. His favorite books right now are "Goodnight Moon", "Guess How Much I Love You", "Things on Wheels" (this is where he picked up saying "beet" when he sees a car because the book says beep beep), and "Does a Kangaroo Have a Mother Too?".

6. He's like his Mommy in that he loves pictures! He will always say "I c" when I've taken a picture, sometimes before I get the picture taken! I've been making short video clips of him too and he will watch them on the computer and laugh at himself. :)

7. He's figured out how to turn the volume up on our computer and when we have music playing he adjusts the volume and changes the songs. He is such a little dancer, he does the funniest thing with his feet moving really fast when he is dancing. He pretends to play the guitar and will tell us to play guitar too.

8. He's MASTERED the words "no", "mine", and thankfully "ok". We are trying to get him not to say "no" and "mine" quite so much. :)

9. He is our little co sleeper. We have not discouraged it so we can't really blame him, and he's sure that our bed is his bed. Which makes him such a cuddle bug! He's just the sweetest kiddo!

10. He still loves to be outside. It doesn't matter what he's doing as long as he gets to be outside!

11. He is sometimes interested in potty training. My Mom is trying, and he will use the "big boy potty" for them. He has for me a few times, but within the past week he cries and says no so I'm not forcing him. I've heard many times that they will do it when they are ready.

12. He still blows kisses and will say bye to all the people in the check out lanes at stores (and family and friends).

13. He knows all his body parts and can point out the body parts on other people too. Maybe it's common for an almost 2 year old to know that, but I sure think he's smart! :)

14. He loves to wear his hats, almost all the way down over his eyes. Just like Daddy and Pa.

15. We have convinced him that it's fun to get your diaper changed by having his scooby doo and his blue doggy get their diapers changed too. :) (Alleviates fit throwing when it's time for a diaper change). And yes, the blue doggy is wearing a diaper in the picture above. :) He calls the blue doggy "Gar". None of us can figure out what he's trying to say exactly, so he is "Gar" and he loves Gar.
